Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy in a glittering function at Hitex Grounds, Madhapur.

Months of planning and speculations finally culminated on Sunday with the marriage of actor Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy in a glittering function at Hitex Grounds, Madhapur.

The specially-erected temple tower set was full of flowers and sparkled with lights as the three-hour function was conducted in a traditional manner.

The groom looked cheerful and relaxed in a cream coloured sherwani (worth `1.6 lakhs) while the bride looked lovely in a light pink sari. The couple placed jilakarra bellam on each other’s head amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras and traditional music at the auspicious muhurat of 10.33 pm. A smiling Allu Arjun then tied the thali to Sneha Reddy and they walked the traditional seven steps around the homam to complete the wedding ritual.

The newly-weds were blessed by Governor Narasimhan, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and Geeta Reddy besides other leaders like Lagadapati Rajagopal, Ramoji Rao and Dasari Narayana Rao.

Among the film fraternity who blessed the newly-weds were the families of Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Mohan Babu and Krishnam Raju. Tamil stars like Surya, Pawan Kalyan and Gen X stars like Ram Charan Tej, Prabhas, Ram and Rana were also present to wish their buddy. “Thank you all for gracing the occasion and sorry for any inconvenience at the event,” said Allu Arjun to the guests before retiring.

Wedding facts
* Uncle Chiranjeevi gifted Rs 4 lakhs worth limited edition Cartier couple watch to Allu Arjun and an exotic jewel piece to Sneha Reddy, costing `3 lakhs from Krsala.

* Ram Charan Tej gifted Allu a European tailor made suit worth Rs 3.5 lakhs.

* The temple tower set was modelled around the gold-plated tower of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala and it cost Rs 65 lakhs. Rs 50 lakhs was spent forthe lighting and flowers.

* The buffet was prepared for around 20,000 guests.
